HELP!!!!

Juie

My son, who is ten and has his own computer (emachine 466)
is constantly downloading things and thinks he is Mr.
Computer Wiz, downloaded an MAC OS emulator today and his
system has issues.

1. If you let it boot normally it acts as though it is
loading the mac os but continually reboots. There is an
error screen (not a typical Microsoft one) it's blue but
passes too quickly to read.

2. He doesn't have any of the boot disks, etc. (He came
with computer from ex hubbies 2/1).

3. I can only get to the a:\ but the commands that work
on my ME os, just get laughed at on his system. For
example registry restore. No go on that one. So...any
help out there?

I have deep freeze on my system to save myself needless
headache that my little genius creates, but in his case,
he has some very awesome movies he edited, that can't be
replaced as they have pix of his brother (whose 3) and the
home he shared with his dad for 4 of his ten years.

So, any help would be greatly appreciated. My icq number
is 49070839. Thx.

Addendum: at the a: prompt, any command I enter returns to
me as "bad command or file name" HELP

I am going to assume the system is running XP. Try booting into safe mode by
pressing F8 during the boot up. Boot into the safe mode desktop and try to
do a system restore from Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools>
System Restore.
If this doesn't resolve the problem boot to Safe Mode again and try "last
known good".
If you still can't get it to boot into Windows, download the XP floppy boot
disks from the link listed below. Make sure you get the proper disks for the
XP version installed on the computer. Use the set of floppies to load the
Recovery console and type fixboot at the prompt.

Click on the link below, or copy and paste the link into the address box
if using the web based newsgroup.
Accessing Safe Mode.

Download the Setup boot disk set from Microsoft. It creates a 6 disk set.
You can run Recovery Console from there.
Obtain Home and Pro plus SP1 version of Home and Pro from the link below.
