Every three months or so my desktop seems to clean itself
up or something and deletes my entire Mp3 folder which is
on the desktop plus all of the Mp3s within it. This is
so frustrtating because the Mp3's are gone without a
trace. Automatic destop wizard is for sure turned off
and I can't figure out what else to do. All I know is
that around every three months my whole desktop gets
erased and my entire Mp3 folder deleted.

Not a cure, but it's NOT best practice to keep folders with data in them on
your desktop. Save them to My Documents and put a shortcut onto your desktop
if you like.

Save files you want to a new folder on your C: drive. Also, so what if
windows loses your files, just put them back from the backups you made
to 2 different forms of media.

No problem.

Kyle Crawley999999999999999999999999999999999999; Try this: Right
click a blank area of the Desktop/click Properties/click Desktop tab/click the
Customize Desktop button/UNcheck "Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60
days"/OK/OK

The icons are not deleted, they are moved to a folder and you can put them
back on the desktop if you want. The folder that is automatically created the
first time the Wizard removes icons is C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Desktop\Unused Desktop Shortcuts
Hope this helps. Let us know.
