Can someone tell me where the equivalent file for "Windows/Application
Data" is in XP? I would ALSO like to know what everyone else is using
for a "Search" app since the one that exists with XP is less than
useless. I REALLY need to know where the application data folder lives.

It's under Documents and Settings\yourusername

You can configure your search preferences to be more like the windows 98
one. Not just like it, but more like it.

I gave up on the XP native search ability after a couple of months of
unsuccessful tweaks and registry edits.

I am using a Freeware proggie called Agent Ransack that can be downloaded
from www.agentransack.com
