When I finish working on Windows XP we generally disconnect from the
broadband internet. Unfortunately whether we log off or stay logged on as
one of our family users after a while the computer completely locks and won't
do anything, can't even CNTL-ALT-DELETE. This has nothing to do with it
automatically going to standby mode after half an hour, it seems to lock
earlier than that. Any help would be appreciated.

Your problem might be caused by a bad screen saver. Disable
it and see what happens.

By the way, if you compose a proper Subject line (e.g. "Windows
locking up") then you stand a far better chance to attract the attention
of those respondents who might have an a solution for your particular
problem. "Help" is about as meaningless as it ges - all posters in this
newsgroup ask for help!
