Windows is corrupt and therefore cannot pick up on my external
cd-rom...I need the external (connected via USB) b/c the internal is
broken. I want to re-install windows, but since the comp wont recognize


the external cd-rom, when I reboot it just comes back into the messed
up windows...what can I do???? Tried downloading the driver for the
cd-rom...no luck. Would like to just reformat this laptop from scratch.

The BIOS of your PC needs to support booting from USB devices, if it does,
you need to change the BIOS boot order to use the external CD first, if it
doesn't your out of luck.
