I just got a Zune for Christmas and I am really happy but my stupid Computer
won't let me install the software!!! Everytime the installation process
reaches 95%, a blue screen pops up saying something about my Hardware and/or
Software Drivers and that I need to restart my Computer. It's VERY
frustrating!! Can someone plz explain wat the problem is and how I can fix it
in a way that I can understand because every website I go to explains in a
very confusing way so plz say it in plain english. thanx.

Please post the exact error message.
What version of Xp are you running, and is it up to date with MS Updates?
See if anything here helps,
http://www.kbalertz.com/929701/Error.message.Event.Viewer.after.software.installation.Could.aspx

Now, you may need some guidance here..the first thing to do is to set a
restore point before you make these changes.
The instructions are pretty straight forward, but can be a bit intimidating,
so ask if you have any questions.

Sounds to me like you need to update the drivers for your motherboard. Check
to make sure that your Mobo and processor drivers are up to date, and then do
the same for all your added hardware like sound/video cards. I had a similar
problem and simply needed to download and install the most recent mobo
drivers online from the manufactuer. Hope this fixes your problem.

Please look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for
Warning and Error Reports and post copies here.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427/en-us

Part of the Description of the error will include a link, which you
should double click for further information. You can copy using copy
and paste. Often the link will, however, say there is no further
information.
http://go.microsoft.com/fw.link/events.asp
(Please note the hyperlink above is for illustration purposes only)

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer.
Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the
message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report.
Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
