HELP!!!

Gateway Select 1000. 256mb ram. amd 1000mhz. 60 gb hard drive.
When we power up our system it goes to the screen that loads the bios. Next
it goes to the Gateway trademark screen and it stops. There is no power to
the mouse, or to the keyboard. We have tried to boot with the floppy in and
also with the cd in, plus both at the sametime. And it still stops at the
Gateway trademark screen. Does anyone know what is wrong with and and how we

So it never attempts to boot.. Is the hard drive still recognized in the
BIOS? Does it spin up? Does it contain an OS?

1st screen is the BIOS(version, copyright) and the 32.OMB RAM and it stops at
the gateway trademsrk screen. Hard drive spins. Even tried a new hard drive
and it stops at the same point.
