Lots of GENTLE circular scrubbing with a box (or two) of the special LCD
monitor cleaning pads available from most department stores should do the
trick for you. While I have not removed pen I have removed spit coffee,
crayon (don't ask) lines, and sticker residue... (Again, don't ask...)
That's what worked for me, it's a lot like work but small round motions
generally seem to do a decent job at it.

I don't know much about flat-screens, but I've had luck with hairspray
getting out ink stains. Maybe spray a little on a soft cloth then blot clean
with a water moistened soft cloth?
-Good luck
