XP Comes with DISK CLEAUP or you can use something lik Window Washer..its
free

That's quite a loaded question. Who's to say what constitutes unwanted
files and that removing them will necessarily make your PC work quicker and
better?

I have removed literally GB's consisting of hundreds of thousands of files
off of user's workstations without anyone noticing any appreciable
improvement. *I* felt better, but the users were totally unaware of any
performance differences. I have since stopped bothering wasting my time.

On a server, I removed years of trash which consumed over half the disk. No
one noticed any performance improvement.

Personally, I keep as much stuff off my home OS partition as possible.
Intellectually, I know this doesn't mean anything except that I feel better.
