Pattie Kelley

I used the worm removal tool and then downloaded the patch
but at the end received the message Extraction Failed:
XPSP1HFM.EXE is not a valid win32 application.

I have windows xp home edition. I was told it was a 64bit.

This shutdown every 5 minutes is killing me.

You windows xp (home edition) is a 32 bit, thus follow
the patch download instructions accordingly. Good luck!

Pattie, not sure if this will help you but try it. Go to
Microsoft.com, follow the links to the patch for XP, and
download the version for 64bit. It's right below the
patch for 32bit. Good luck! it worked for me.
PS I know this sounds stupid but is your XP firewall
enabled? Is your anti-virus program up to date? Just
checking *S*.

Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
Click System Restore Settings on the left side.
Click "Turn off System Restore", click OK and follow prompts.
Don't forget to turn it back on when completed.
