**security patch error message

i do tech support for an isp. i handle a few blaster and
welchia worms every day. lately i've been experiencing an
issue with the prevention security patch (found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/7/5/a75b3c8f-
5df0-451b-b526-cfc7c5c67df5/WindowsXP-KB823980-ia64-
ENU.exe). the problem occurs after download, when i try
to install the patch. an error occurs with the following
message: xpsp1hfm.exe is not a valid win32 application.
the procedure stops there. nobody in my office is able to
figure out what the problem is. any suggestions?

Hi, are you d/loading the right one? There is a 32bit &
64bit, I see you are d/loading the 64bit.

Hello Zakku,
That is the 64bit version of the patch which only works on Itanium
machines. You ned the 32 bit version of the patch
