New Boy

I have a genuine copy of WinXP (a few years old but I have downloaded all
(???) the required updates etc.
Had to reformat my hard drive and now every time I boot up, a screen comes
up wanting me to click my user name - I have to do that before the system
completes the opening phase so I have to hang around until I click the
button. Before the reformat, this screen never surfaced.
I'm the only user & through Control Panel User Accounts I am listed as
Computer Administrator & don't need a password to open. BUT there is another
User account named "ASP.NET Machine A... Password Protected" but this
doesn't come up in the opening page where I have to click me as User. (I
think ASP.Net relates to something called Framework v1.4322 & v2.0.50727).
QUESTION 1 - Can I safely delete ASP.Net User Account or will that cause
other problems?
QUESTION 2 - How do I stop the User Screen on boot-up so that the full
startup is completed without having to click my name?

Hope you can help.
Many thanks,
Malcolm T

I have never run into any problems deleting that account. I think it
has to do with .NET Framework. If you only have one account and it
doesn't need a password, then Windows should automatically log you
on...so getting rid of the ASP account should do the trick. Best of
luck!
