HELP!! - XP PC Doesn't Think I am an Administrator

We started having "random" problems with one of our XP Pro PCs today (we're
in a SBS 2003 network). I discovered I suddenly couldn't use the MS
windowsupdate site because it refuses to run correctly unless I have admin
privileges (error 0x8DDD0002), and then I realized that many automatic
services were not started. When I try to start them I cannot because I
don't have the correct privileges. This occurred today because we use IIS
on this PC to do development work. So, I know this issue started today or
maybe late yesterday. When I look at the user's accounts on this PC, there
are a few that I have setup with admin privileges in the past and that all
looks correct. I can log in as any of them and I still have the same
problems. I KNOW my account has admin privileges on this PC, but for some
reason XP does not think that I do. Any idea what could be the problem
here?

In case it matters, whenever I try to browse anything with Windows Explorer
or IE it takes forever. In fact, it takes forever for those apps to just
come up. I assume this is because of the same security issues, but I am not
sure.

OK, Well, you do in fact have Admin priviledges or you would not see anyone
but yourself in the user accounts utility. Do you know the password to the
user account named Administrator that is on XP. If you do, log into that
account (There is no doubt that it is an administrator) and go to the user
accounts page. Select your user and change it from an Administrator Account
to a Limited Account. Then go back and change it to an Administrator account.
This usually makes XP change whatever messed the administrator rights to your
username mess up in the first place. If you do not know the password for the
Administrator account on XP Professional, then do you know any other user
account that is set as an administrator? If so, log into that account and do
the steps that you would have done in the Administrator account.
