help with XP

Hi, I'm having a few problems. First of all, the help and
support as well as my system information programs do not
work when i try to run them. I was wondering if others
are having the same problems, and if so, how to fix them.

Also, a few days ago my computer started becoming slower.
What happened was that I was playing music and then it
started skipping as if the RAM is being used by something
else. I don't think I have a virus because it would be a
lame virus if that's all it did. I teid defragmenting,
which worked for a while, but the problem re-occurred. I
have never had problems with this before.

Viruses often are designed to waste resources; slowing
your computer to a crawl.
Scan your system with up to date antivirus software.
Don't assume anything.
