Help with WMPlayer

D

Diane P.

I would like to configure WMP 11 on my PC. I never did bother with WMP 9
which is the one I have now, but I have never configured it or run it on
this machine. When I attempted to run the media player I have the setup
wizard came up, so I know I have not used it. I double checked in Control
Panel and it is definitely not installed

I presume that WMP11 is the one I should use.

I went to the M/soft site and it didn't say much about my situation. My
question is do I need to do anything before downloading and installing 11? I
have all the service packs and and am up to date with Windows updates. Any
tips on its use or configuring? Thanks.

It does not appear under Add and Remove Programs.
It is under Add/Remove windows components.

Windows Media Player is present on your computer already.

Just download and install WMP 11, which will upgrade the version on your
computer.

There is no need to uninstall WMP 9 and if you upgrade, WMP 11 will
then appear in the main Add/Remove programs menu (in addition to the
entry under Add/Remove Windows Components).

Bob: Thanks...when I went to M/soft website, I got concerned about
installing 11 if another version is on the PC. Thanks for helping.
