Help with Win XP Pro, Roxio, and burner

Hello,

Not even sure if this is the right place to post this, so I apologize
beforehand.

I am running Windows XP Pro. I recently installed Roxio's Easy Media
Creator ver 7. For some reason, I am unable to burn. My system specs: HP
Pavilion, 550 MHz, 128 MB, burner = HP CD Writer+8100. When I try to burn in
Creator Classic, I am supposed to be able to import data from an "appendable"
disc (ie: disc w/data on it). This feature (button) is grayed out. So what
happens is that when I click burn, the burn process stops and says I have to
insert a blank disc (this happens whether the disc truly is blank or not).

I don't know if there is some setting or something I should change with the
OS so that the software will "see" my burner and let me burn and import.

Sorry if this is a little confusing, I have tried going to like 5 tech
sites, inc. Roxio's, and tried several option (inc. uninstalling and
reinstalling the software) to no avail. I have a burner but can't burn --
this really is upsetting.

Anyways, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

You could try using another burning program such as CDBurner XP Pro (
http://www.cdburnerxp.se/ ) to check if it is a problem with the burner
itself rather than the software.

You may have a buffer underrun problem, I had the same problem with two HP
Burners,a 9300i and a 9700i. Try the HP support web site you will find
information there.
Hope this help.
