Help with Vista Windows Mail and Newsgroups

SHb

I have a new Desktop Computer with Windows Vista Premium.

I set up Windows Mail / News and subscribed to some newsgroups.

When using E mail or newsgroups:
I keep getting prompted for user name and password (every minute or so).
What's up with that?

Sometimes when I am typing a post in a newsgroup I look up and the password
prompt is there and I am typing my post in the password box.
????!!!

When the Newsgroup folder is open and the newsgroups are listed
`some are bold and some are not.
`Some Newsgroups show messages when I click on them
`Some Newsgroups never show messages.
(if I go to a different news reader there are messages in those newsgroups)
So why can't I see these messages in Windows mail using Newsgroups?

Any help is appreciated.

Uncheck the option under Tools | Options | Read to download xxx headers at a
time and then you will get all the NG messages.

For the password issue, make sure under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties
that you have the user name and passwords correct. For the newsservers, if
its the msnews ("Communities") feature, you may or may not want to turn that
off (Tools | Options | use NG ratings features) to prevent the sign in box.
