Help with speakers?

I recently purchased a Hp Media Center PC and the speakers that are built
into the monitor quite frankly suck. I hooked up my old polk audio speakers
from my last Hp
and the sound is barely coming through. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are the volume options (see the volume icon in the taskbar or the applete in
the control panel) turned all the way up? Do these speakers have their own
power source? I'm not too certain with an HP nor a MCE OS but it could very
well be that you'd need a sound card instead of an on-board audio device?
You might try asking in the MCE groups for more information or even
consulting HP - especially if it's still under your support warranty.

Thank you for the reply. My speakers don't have their own power source. And I
made sure the volume is up. I think I will try an Hp support group.

You will probably need speakers with their own power supply - meaning that
they have a cord that runs from them to an electric outlet.
