I just bought a new computer and am setting up a fresh install of XP Pro.

In our office we have six machines connected by a router to broadband
internet access. A couple of weeks ago I set up my laptop and desktop
machines so that I could share the "My Documents" folders between these two
machines but no one else. I'm wondering if there is some simple way to
find, transfer, copy, etc. the settings from my old desktop to my new
desktop so that I don't have to spend a couple of hours figuring this out
again.

Any help appreciated.

Peter;
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
From XP HELP:
[Using the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
The Files and Settings Transfer Wizard helps you move your data files and
personal settings from your old computer to your new one, without having to go
through much of the same configuration you did with your old computer. For
example, you can take your personal display properties, folder and taskbar
options, and Internet browser and mail settings from your old computer and place
them on the new one. The wizard will also move specific files or entire folders,
such as My Documents, My Pictures, and Favorites.]

Wesley:

This works for everything but, it seems. I did manage to figure it out,
though. When I made a first run at this some time ago, it took me hours to
figure out how to do it. This time it was only about 30 minutes, but it
would be nice if it could be automated so that I could be sure that I
tranferred the settings exactly!

Peter;
I have never used it. I was planning on using it just to save my settings
to CD in case I have a problem. I tried copying Documents and Settings to CD
and couldn't copy everything I wanted to because a lot of stuff was in use.
