Help with setting up a printer

I have an HP deskjet printer that is networked, not attached to another
computer, and works fine on a small office net. However, I just installed a
new computer on the net, Windows XP Pro, and I can only print from the Admin
account. I can't print from any of the user's account on that machine.

I've tried reinstalling the printer on that machine multiple times. All
looks normal except that it doesn't print, the job just hangs there.
However when I shut down, it will print.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Marco

Cari,

Thanks, that looks like it.

Wierd, I've never run into that before. I learned something new, it's a
good day ;=)

Still no joy.

My printer is an HP5850 attached directly to the network. I can ping it
successfully using it's name, "ping HP5800". However, when I try to do,

"rundll printui.dll, PrintUIEntry /ga /c\\desktop /n\\hp5850

it says it can't complete the operation. The examples all look like they
need something like:

"rundll printui.dll, PrintUIEntry /ga /c\\desktop /n\\servername\hp5850

but this is not tied to a separate computer.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Marco
