help with outlook 2002 and hp ipaq palm pilot

I have just downloaded outlook to sync with my palm pilot. I can't open
outlook.
I get an error message. UNABLE TO OPEN DEFAULT EMAIL FOLDERS. When I click
OK. I get:
WOULD YOU LIKE TO OPEN YOUR DEFAULT FILE SYSTEM FOLDER INSTEAD?
I click YES then get:
RUNTIME ERROR
THIS APPLICATION HAS REQUESTED THE RUNTIME TO TERMINATE IT IN AN UNUSUAL
WAY. CONTACT SUPPORT

I have tried to configure an new profile.. I must be doing that wrong also.
I'm trying to find step by step instructions on creating or changing my
profile, however, it seems I need more info. Like my correct account type.
I'm have windows XP home edition and was using outlook express for email.
