Help with OST files

On our corporate network we have several users who are experiencing problems
related to the mailbox size limit. All of our users run Outlook in cached
exchange mode.

We have experienced problems in which users are trying to send messages but
get the message stating that they have exceeded the size limit of 85MB for
their mailbox. After looking at the size of the mailbox on the server it
appears that the mailbox is over the limit, but the size of the local
mailbox is below this limit.

We have tried various things such as using the inbox repair tool on both the
..ost and .pst and rebuilding a new .ost file, but there is still the
discrepancy between the size on the exchange server and the local data. Has
anyone come across this problem before and what solution is there to this?

There will usually be some discrepancy between the mailbox and the OST sizes
which should become more aligned after a syncronization, but I doubt they'll
ever match.

Yes, I know there will always be a discrepancy, but in the case of a couple
of people it is by about 10MB.

It's over 5 MB for me.
