Help with Norton & AVG

I have Norton Internet Security installed & always kept up to date, regular
scans didn't find any problems, however I decided to make use of Norton on
line scan facility as a matter of interest & it found 6x W32.Licum worms so,
the online thing just advises to buy one of the Norton AV programs. I ran my
Norton again & also in safe mode, it didn't detect the worms the on line
scan had. I then installed AVG & ran the program & AVG found the problems
straight away though with a different name (W32/Gaelicum.A) which I assume
is the same thing. I chose to vault. Can anyone tell me if I have removed
the threat or have I moved the whole exe file which the worm was attached to
the vault? Also is it advisable to have 2 AV programs on the PC & will they
conflict (Norton & AVG).

Regarding whether to have 2 virus programs on the PC, it's been my
experience that they will conflict with each other, depending on which ones
you use. It's always a better idea to just run one program.

Is your Norton a modern version or 2002? Just wondering, as i have
seen older scan engins still updating...
