Jeff

I am running XP Home with Windows Media Player version 9 to which I am new.

When I play a music CD, it shows "track1, track2", etc. I figured out how to
edit the names by including the actual names of the tunes. However when I
try to save this "list" for the next time I enter it, I find the Save As
option is grayed out. How do I save the edited track list?

If I close MediaPlayer and restart it, the list re-appears. But I am afraid
that it may just be in ram and if I shutdown it will have disappeared. Can
I save the edited track list? How?

Thanks.

Thanks. I found it and installed it.

However it does not solve my problem. The commercial music CD in question
does not contain any text. What I want to do is the following:
I have a commercial (store purchased) music CD that when I place in my CD
drive opens Windows Media Player 9 (which is fine). The first time I did so
it showed in Now Playing as "Unknown Artist" and the tracks appeared as
track1, track2, etc. I edited these track listings in Windows Media so that
they reflect the song names. Fine.

Now, I do not want to have to re-edit these track titles every time I insert
this CD. So, I wanted to save this information somehow. BUT, when I open
the icon at the bottom for "Select playlist options", the Save As is grayed
out. Probably because I cannot write to the this store bought CD. Is there
a way to save this list of tracks somewhere on my PC within Windows Media
Player so that it is always available when I put this CD in the drive?

While I am at it, I found out how to edit the track names, but not how to
edit the CD title "Unknown Artist" Can that be done too (and saved)?

Thanks.

You can't explicitly save this 'list', no. It's implicitly saved when you
modify that information, though. If you wanted to change the CD title, you
would need to use the "Find Album Info" button, which is the normal method
for correcting the metadata associated with a CD. =)
