Help with keyboard mapping

Hi, I've installed an English version of WinXP on a
Japanese laptop, the laptop uses a Japanese keyboard that
is slightly different from the MS IME standard.

Now many of the symbol key is not functioning/showing up
different from what the key says.
Is there anyway I can fix it? (install the Japanese
keymap?)

Control Panel/Regional and Language options/Languages tab, click details.
You can add support for Japanese here.

Thanks, but I've tried that already, didn't change anything

Hi Selena,

Then you may need to download the appropriate supporting keyboard driver
from the laptop manufacturer. Laptops are notoriously finicky about these
things.
