Thanks David; the part regarding html, htm is clear. In my original post I
mentioned that graphic files also do not respond as they did in ME: I was
able to highlight a file (either a graphics file or an html file) in Windows
Explorer and see a preview of the graphic before actually opening the file.
How do I turn on jpegs and other graphic types?

You mentioned you can't get thumbnails of html files. That's because it is turned off in XP. This turns it back on. jpegs are already on.

Thanks David,
Just to clarify: I insert those lines into my registry using regedit 5.1,
even though both HKEY-CLASSES-ROOT entries are identical and although ..html
is metioned in both of the lines, I don't see any reference to graphic type
file extensions (i.e.jpg)?

I have a similar problem. I updated from ME to XP professional SP2. Before
updating, I was able to highlight a file (either a graphics file or an html
file) in Windows Explorer and see a preview of the file (in the case of HTML,
I was actually viewing a minature of the web site) in the right folder window
under the file's description/details. Instead I now get a 'screen tip' type
bubble with the file details, but no image preview. I found the image
preview very handy, because I could quickly find the file I wanted to opten
without using the thumbnail view. Can anyone tell me how to get back that
functionality? Thanks, Stainless316

I'm running XP Pro (sp2 and all updates) and I've developed a strange
problem. In the left of each folder view if I clicked on an image, video or
audio file I used to get a preview of it in the "Details" portion of the
left pane. Now only .gif files show a preview. Anyone have any ideas? Any
help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Scott
