Help with File Association . . .

D

Diggy

I have this .qfx file from Quicken. It usually downloaded to a temp folder,
and then Quicken automatically opened it (and then deleted it I think). But
now XP gives me the dialogue box asking me where to save the file, and
Quicken won't automatically open this file. This problem started after I
ran a little utility that limited the number of plugins that Adobe Acrobat
loaded at startup (but I'm not sure if there is really any connection - I've
since uninstalled AA).

It seems like a file association problem, but where do I fix that? The
weird thing is that if I click on the QFX file after downloading it, then it
opens normally in Quicken. Very strange.

Possibly there is an option within Quicken which will allow you to reset the
file association.
If not, try opening Windows Explorer, then
1) Click on "Tools"
2) Click on "Folder Options'
3) Click on "File Types"
4) If your file type is not listed, click on "New" to add it, and click on
"Change" to associate it with Quicken.
