Further to previous posting:

I cannot find a reference to IE7 in the registry - yet when I try to install
IE7 I get a message that it is already installed and must be removed.

Updates: KB912812 will not install.

IE7 is beta, you installed it and now have problems, what do you expect from
a beta?
There is I believe a specific ng for IE7 beta
