Can anyone help me as my computer is running extremely slow and I have
emptied temp files, tried to defrag and clean the c drive, but When I try and
defrag my drive c it says "

Does anyone know how to fix this or if there is anyway to reformat the
drive? It won't let me reformat the c drive and reload the windows either.
:(

I sure would appreciate any help I could get. What I want to do is get rid
of all the excess stuff on this drive to speed it up and get it in top
performance shape again. I have gone into the add/remove programs and there
are errors that they can't take things off etc. So I am up a creek and no
paddle. Thanks.

First job to do, go here.
ActiveX Spyware & Adware Scanning
http://www.spywareinfo.com/xscan.php
This scanner is an ActiveX applet. After a short delay in which your
browser downloads the control file, you will receive a "Warning
Dialogue" requesting permission for the scanner to run. Click "Yes" and
the applet will pop up and scan. You will be alerted if any spyware is
found. When a spyware or malware is found, you will be alerted and
asked if you want to remove it. If no spyware is found, the scanner
will disappear on its own.
If nothing happens, or if you are using a browser other than Internet
Explorer, click here and choose either "Open" or "Run this program from
its current location". Do not choose "Download".

SpyXposer is the new free tool for detecting spyware and other threats
hidden in your PC.
Not only will you find out if your PC is infected with spyware, but
you'll also see if other types malware are installed:
Dialers
Hacking tools
Jokes
Security risks.
Hoaxes
This application is updated at least once a day, so it can always root
out even the very latest spyware.
And you don't even need to install any program, all you need is to be
connected to the Internet.

You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double
click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it

I'd first suggest that you boot into Safe Mode and try defragmenting from
there and see if the built-in does a better job.

However, I see that the pagefile is in 6000+ pieces which is quite several
AND unusual - indicating that free space on this drive is likely fragmented
all over the place (free space fragmentation is listed at 7% - which due to
the way that the built-in calculates free space fragmentation is quite
severe).

The built-in will NOT be able to defragment the pagefile. That will require
the use of a 3rd party defragmenter - which will likely also do a far better
job of defragmenting than the built-in.

If you unable to remove programs while booted normally in Windows, you might
try removing them while booted into Safe Mode.
