Help with DB size

I converted a large database from Approach to Access. When I created tables,
queries, and reports it topped out 7.1 Mb. I tried to E mail the DB home but
our server would handle it. I the Data Base and took a copy and removed all
the data
(6480) records and tried to E mail with no records. It still tells me it is
7.1 MB. any help in making this smaller. Thanks in advance.

Mike,
You need to compact the database -- Tools > Database Utilities > Compact and
Repair Database.... Until you do that Access doesn't actually free up the
space of deleted records.

You would need to compact and repair after removing the data.

The space isn't recovered until you compact the database (under Tools |
Database Utilities)

You might try zipping the original database, though. Access databases tend
to compress significantly when zipped.
