Help with bad drive.

I was using my iPod Shuffle on a Windows PC to install some stuff on my
parent's PC, when it froze and messed up some blocks and clusters. I
use OS X and I have tried the Disk Utility and the iPod software
updater, but it just hits a bad cluster and stops. Is there anything
that I can do to fix them, before I flame Bill Gates. lol

I've even tried windows, but of course it didn't help me at all. It
just messed the drive up worse.

If its WIN XP go to

RUN on the start menu.

Then type in chkdsk /f

Then if it says chkdsk cannot run blah blah until its restarted ,
restart the PC.

but will that repair them or just mark them as bad? This thing should
be able to be repaired to its original settings.

If your HDD has bad sector on it then you need to get a new drive asap. Copy
whatever data you can over to the new drive.

People use to say if the bad sectors are stable , they dont keep
growing then it wasnt that bad. However hard disks are really cheap
now so Id get a new one like the other poster says. You can use it as
a second HD etc as long as you realize it can take your data with it
and die anytime. Try reformatting it and keep doing a chkdsk to see if
it gets worse.

Theres a Western Digital at Best Buy $39 after rebate 160 gig I think
but the sales over I think sunday 1 year warranty and a seagate at
Circuit City 160 gig 5 yr warranty for 49 bucks after rebate. .

Well its an iPod Shuffle so it is flash based. I was using it as a
flash drive to carry my stuff across the school campus. I can squeeze
249 MB in before it hits the bad spot and then finder and iTunes will
freeze until the disk finally resets.
