When i click on start and all programs, and go to entertainment, only my
default media players come up, and I cannot turn up the main system volume.
I do have use of the sound manager, however whenever I go to turn up the main
sysyem volume, is says i should install snbvol32.exe from add/remove
programs. The file is not availiable in my program files or anywhere else on
my computer as I have done a search with programs, and looked manually. I
think I might have accidentally deleted this with some "freeware" I
downloaded. However, I was watching a movie recently and could not even hear
it well with volume at full control and using the sound manager to adjust it
properly. Is there anyway to reinstall this onto my computer without having
to use the recovery cd, as there are many programs I do not want to lose and
lots of data I do not want to lose or back up as it will take up many cd's.
Please help if you can and thanks in advance if anyone has any advice.

Trey.

The Expand command, in the original media folder (cd disk/i386, or whatever) can be used to expand a new copy to the ../systen32/..
folder.

An easy way to do it is SFC, or MSCONFIG

Go to Start/Run, and type MSCONFIG then look at the Expand File button

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW (see: Description of Windows XP and Windows Server
2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe): http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310747 )
