HELP!!! WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

my windows media player doesnt play back any videos, but
has audio. all movies and episodes dont show but there
is only audio present. I reinstalled media player and it
didnt work and I also reinstalled the WM9codecs packages
and it still doesnt work. my other video players such as
power dvd doesnt work either! need help asap
 
you need to determine the appropriate codecs and download them. You most
likely need to get the DivX codec (hint: it is not a codec included with
any portions of windows).

when trying to put on movie on player, a sign pops up saying "the application has failed to start. missing itidib2.dll. maybe start application over. (HOW)
