Help... Win2k/WinXP networking problem... TIA

JustMe

Hi:

I have two cpu's. One with Win2k and the other with WinXP, and they are
peer-to-peer networked via a cross-over cable.

1. I can ping each other, .i.e from Win2k to Win XP and vice versa.
2. I have shared certain folders in both cpus'
3. I am able to read files of the WinXP cpu from my Win2k cpu. But I cannot
read any files of the Win2k cpu from my WinXp cpu.
4. The typical error message is:

---------------------- Error
Message -----------------------------------------------------
\\Win2KComputer\Music is not accessible. You might not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

---------------------- End of Error
Message ---------------------------------------------

5. I have Zone Alarm installed but I defined the network (192.168.0.0) as a
trusted network.

5a. I have Norton AV but it has been disabled

I am at my wit's end, what can I do?

TIA

do you have identical accounts on both computers because XP also acts like a
server and need a account set from the 2k machine.

I did try creating an account in XP that reflected the one in Win2k...
perhaps I did something wrong... I will try again. Thanks and my apologies
for the late acknowledgement. Thanks again
