HELP! Win XP cannot load device drivers!!

We had a compatibility problem with Roxio Easy CD Creator
4 on our Windows XP computer. An error message kept
popping up at startup that said there were incompatible
device drivers. It said they were both Roxio. I deleted
the two files in question:

cdralw2k.sys
cdr4_2k.sys

I thought it was safe to delete them since they seemed to
be only associated with Easy CD Creator. Neither file is
responsible for actually running either of our optical
drives which are:

Sony CRX140E CD-RW
Samsung SD-612 DVD-ROM

However, after deleting these files from the
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ folder, neither our CD-RW nor
our DVD-ROM works. I managed to download cdralw2k.sys
(could not find cdr4_2k.sys which comes from Roxio but is
not available on their site) and restored it to its
original location in the \drivers\ folder but after
restarting the PC, optical drives still do not work and
Device Manager shows the following error for both:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Help someone, please!! Don't know what to try next!!

Easy CD Creator 4.0 is NOT compatible with Windows XP. It should have been
uninstalled before you upgraded. How would you even know this? You would
find out by running the compatibility wizard from the Windows XP CD. It is
there to prevent just this type of occurrence.

Now you have to go to the Roxio web site and search for their "cleaning"
instructions. Then, at your option, you can install a new CD Burning program
that IS compatible. You can use Nero ver 5 or Roxio CD-DVD Creator 6.0. Get
latest updates for either of these retail programs from their respective web
sites.

Windows XP uses Roxio drivers to burn CD's from Explorer. You probably deleted some files associated with that. Look through the .CAB files on your XP CD to restore the files
