Help! Weird things are happening

Hiya,
Lately my computer has just been screwing up more and
more. It seems ever since I started running virus scans
and having to quarintine and delete files and then my
adaware scans also seem to be causing a problme. Also
someone else who use's the computer intsalled some weird
iSearch toolbar for IE or something of the sort and that
also seems to have created some problems. The problems
are as follows: Search function on XP always ends up
freezing and saying "not responding", several default
programs that came w/ the computer such as wordpad,
calculator, sound recorder, and even volume control, have
all "disappeared" lately. I'm seriously considering re-
installing XP but if anyone can help out please let me

Before you reinstall do a System Restore to an earlier date/time that
worked.

I'd say you answered your own question --> reinstalling
windows. you dont necessarily have to reformat, just do
a recovery install, but if you continue to see problems a
reformat would be a more complete solution.
