I'm running Win XP on my home PC and have recently been infected with and
adware/spyware programme called adware review. It links to a URL:
www.topadwarereviews.com and Defender nor Norton Internet Security detects or
removes it. Any suggestion as 2 small icons appear on the task menu and keep
popping up. Only happens when I lauch Inernet Explorer.

Any help appreciated

-check the bootup prgm's listed in windows defender; remove what might be the
culprit

-remove all tmp IE files , offline content etc

-do a complete search for any file having to do with adware + if needed
remove manually
-delete every registry key linked to adware
etc .
of course first check in control panels, add remove soft; normally it lets
itself be removed without any hassle (according to my experiences removing
it), + only if you have not yet deleted it's files manually nor replaced, if
you did you can firtst try re-installing to the original location, so all
files needed for the removal are available at their right location
in fact I has adware on all my pc's, and did not encounter 1 single problem
in removing
check if it is not triggered by some other innocent looking command ran at
bootup
check where the 2 small icons refer to + delete their targets
also do a full chkdsk, not a fast one.
