Ceres adware

I have been using the Microsoft Anti-Spyware beta 1, and
it removed this adware but it still pops up. I have added
to my security settings in my internet options too.
Any ideas?

Hi Andre,
Thanks for your respose. I noticed the web address you
gave me is for a trial download. I am not sure I want to
purchase this, but thankyou. Is there anything else out
there that can remove it permanently?

Hey Jen,

I found some additional removal info here:
http://www.greatis.com/appdata/d/c/ceres.dll_Removal.htm

Yes, these spyware programs need a program to remove them, which are usually
trials. I would also recommending giving MSAS another try, restart in safe
mode, on the Scan Page in MSAS, choose Scan Options > Full System Scan.

Also, CERES, might have installed some unwanted Browser Helper Objects, here
are removal instuctions for BHO's here:

You did try running AntiSpy in Safe Mode several times
didn't you? Wouldn't hurt to clean your temporary files
too while still in Safe Mode. ccleaner.com, download and
install then run it. Uncheck everything on the first page
except the two entries which say Temporary then Run
Cleaner.

I believe ceres is a version of VX2 so you might want to
try AdAware SE with the VX2 addin. Get them both at:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

be sure to read the instructions on how to install the
addin.

The free version should work OK.

If you want to try a manual removal and you are handy with
regedit see:

http://www.webhelper4u.com/tnewswritigs/ceresbuddy_exe.html

If all else fails:

Get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select
Scan and Save Log. Note where you saved the log then
send it to me as an attachment.

For some reason my safe mode isn't working. I am on a Lan
so I don't know. I go into safe mode, then when I log on,
it goes black, saying safe mode in the corners, and then
nothing. I wait like five minutes and nothing.
