HELP - USB storage drive unreadable

M

Mike

The last time I used my USB pen drive I forgot to click on the "safely remove hardware"
icon in the system tray.
Now it is unreadable, in that when I click on the "removable drive" icon in "My Computer",
it asks me to insert one.
Is there a way to recover the data I have on it, as it is pretty valuable ?
Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Some of these data retrieval programs may be able to retrieve your files:

http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html
PCInspector File Recovery -
http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/welcome.htm
Executive Software “Undelete” -
http://www.execsoft.com/undelete/undelete.asp
R-Studio - http://www.r-tt.com/
File Scavenger - http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm
Ontrack's EasyRecovery - http://www.ontrack.com/software/

If not, then the only recourse is to contact a professional data
recovery company such as Drive Savers (http://www.drivesavers.com) to
see what they say. Professional data recovery is quite expensive,
usually starting at around $500 and going up from there.

USB thumbdrives are wonderful inventions but as you have learned, not to
be relied upon for permanent data backup.

There is one more option you can try out Stellar Phoenix Windows Data
Recovery Software.
You can download the demo version of the software
Scan your USB drive and can see the preview of the recovered data.
If satisfied with the demo then only proceed to get the full version
to save the data.
Product Information: http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm
Download: http://www.stellarinfo.com/spwdr.exe

I hope you're getting paid a lot to send this spam, because I'll never
recommend a company (Stellar Phoenix) that uses spam to advertise their
program. You've done a lot of damage to this company by spamming the MS
newsgroups.

apparently you have a very narrow restricted idea of what constitutes spam.
but do not mind creating SPAM your self with your STUPID SPAM messages.

nothing wrong with recommending software to possible fix a problem.
just because it did not come from you or a mvp does not label it NOT good.

I am not doing any spam and haven't paid for that. I am sharing my

and has helped me a lot. You can download the software to try. I think
you will also like this and in future will recommend to other.

Hmmm. 125.63.74.98 = Spectranet Broadband ISP, India.
Stellar Phoenix is an Indian company.

No matter what classification your post may belong in,
you aren't doing anything to improve the image and
reputation of your company. The more you say to the
contrary, the harder our opinions and attitudes become.

You build reputation by word of mouth. Happy users spread the
word for you. No happy users - no good reputation. Simple as
that.

And we know the difference between a *fake* happy user and
a real one. We see contrived testimonials all the time. So
don't waste your time.

There is a world of difference between spam and a recommendation for a
utility that may (or may not) solve the OP's problem. This falls firmly
into the latter.
