HELP - Upgrading W2K GP to W XP GP problems - KB 307900

We're adding about 20 new XP machines to a W2K domain and I want to
upgrade the .ADMs.

I'm connecting to a single W2K SP4 domain controller from an XP SP1
machine and following the procedure in KB 307900, but I can never see
the new settings. I only see the original W2K GP settings from the XP
client. Can anyone tell me what step(s) I might be misisng here? The
KB article makes it sound pretty straightforward. Connectivity doesn't
seem to be an issue - I can browse the GPOs on the DC w/o problems.

Thanks.

Hi Kruthy:

Important After you apply Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4), the Group
Policy security templates are restored to the Windows 2000 default security
settings. Because of this change, you must repeat these seven steps after
you apply Windows 2000 SP4.
Microsoft recommends that you edit upgraded GPOs from Windows XP-based
clients. You can perform subsequent management of these GPOs
(such as linking them to domains or organizational units) from the Windows
2000 Active Directory management tools.

Thanks, Alan, but I'm not sure I understand. The DC was already
upgraded to W2K SP4 before I started the steps in KB 307900. What are
you saying I need to do differently?
