Help!! Unable to use Internet Connection Wizard!!

I want to use the Internet Connection Wizard to make a new
internet connection using an external modem! When I
choose "Set up my dialup connection manually" then
only "broadband connection" is enabled and all other
choices are disabled!!! I have an Acer notebook with
Firewire IEEEE 1394..perhaps should i blame it? Please
help !!!

In my case I had upgraded XP Home (SP1) to XP Pro (no SP).

I have already installed Windows XP Pro...I installed
Service pack 1 which fixed the problem but I have another
problem now!! The USB 2.0 ports are not recognized
anymore!!!!!
