In Word 2003, I've got a document that is largely a table, as it has
annotations on the left and text on the right. I'm pulling a picture into
the larger, right-hand text side of the table and am having a problem putting
(and keeping!) it where I want it. The photo has evidently acquired a text
box or 'frame' somewhere along the way, probably to define its boundaries,
etc. Text is wrapping around it okay, but it simply will not be pulled to
the bottom of the table cell... it keeps jumping up a few lines. When I
click on the picture's frame to grab it, a mysterious little anchor symbol
appears in the left-hand annotation part of the table, apparently aligned
with one of the paragraphs on the right. I have no 'snap-to' boxes checked,
how can I 'micro-position' this picture?

You have to float the picture. Select the picture, make sure the "picture"
tool bar is open. Click on "text wrapping"-the dog. Your probably
in-line-select one of the other options=text in front, back, etc. You should
now be able to move the picture where you want it.

Thanks, Patrick; I tried that, but the picture/text box still won't go where
I want it. I did some investigating, howerver, and this happens only within
a table, not when the paragraph is 'free' on the page. I worked around this
by splitting the table, formatting my text between the split table, and
putting the picture there. All okay now; thanks for the reply.
