help! trojan headache

i got one of those trojans....depsite having spybot & norton AV. it is the
one that gives popups titled "only the best."

finally with CWSHredder i got rid of it (winshow), but now i am left with
two problems i cant fix!

at startup, and when certain apps start up, the windows installer startsup,
looking for OFFICE installer....

and, i can no longer bring up ADD/REMOVE programs from the control panel....

please help, this sucks :-(

I just had this problem. I finally got around it by reinstalling SP4

i installed SP4 and still i keep getting that windows installer run! please
help me!!!! i tried nortan AV, CWshredder.....spoybbot....HELP PLEASE

You probably have the office toolbar in your startup folder. Delete that.
Then reinstall MS Office to take care of the need to have the CDs when you
try to run something from that package.

no....it occurs everytime i open up IE.....OE and when i click NEW
MESSAGE....or start word, excel, etc.....

OK, then you'll probably want to install the repair patches for Windows
Installer. Then reinstall Office.
