HELP - Template Question

I have a PPT in one template. Someone has sent me a new ppt with a new
template via email. I have to transfer the old into new. I know i can do this
if i copy from one into another, but is there a way to just apply the new one
to the old as a background or something? Please help.

Save the bew one as POT
Then y'll be able to apply this model to whatever you want
