Help! Spyware won't allow script to run

L

Lynn Grubb

I have been running certain BAT files from shortcut icons
for several months. Today I find MS AntiSpyware blocking
them, and it won't permit me to allow them to run. I can't
even get rid of the MSAS message alert. Seems like a
recent update has a bug. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what is happening here, but I'd recommend shutting Microsoft
Antispyware down while you run the scripts. Right click on the notification
area icon, and choose shut down.

You can restart from the programs menu later.

Thanks, Bill. How does one report this kind of thing to
Microsoft? It'ws an obvious bug, but of course this is an
unsupported program.

These groups are the place to make that report. This one was reported quite
early, and, for a time, there was a Scripting Guys article about this and
other issues. That content is no longer available, and all we have is word
of mouth.

This one is definitely high on the fix list--presumably taken care of long
ago, but we won't see it until another build is distributed.
