[Help] Search returns no results

I posted using a different subject but no replies so I will try again.

When I perform a search, the search ends instantly and returns no
results even though I try something it *should* find because it is there.

Any suggestions to repair this problem?

IE 7 has a feature to restore search. IE, tools menu, Options, General tab,
Search area, "Settings" button.

Search Companion Error When You Search for Files and Folders:

Log on to the computer by using an account with administrator permissions.
2. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot%\inf, and then click OK.
3. Locate the Srchasst.inf file.
4. Right-click the Srchasst.inf file, and then click Install. This
reinstalls the files that Search Companion uses.
