Help Saving Favorites Folders

Is there a way to save the contents of the favorites
folder on IE 6.0??? I have a laptop that I would like to
load my favorites to. Also when I clean my hard drive I
don't want to loose all the things I have in there?
Please let me know how i can do this.

Yes, you can move the entire Favorites folder from one pc
to another.

The Favorites folder can be found, usually, at C:\Documents
and Settings\<your username> where <your username> is the
name you use to log onto your pc. This assumes you are
using Windows 2000. Not sure about XP but it should be
similar.


Copy the entire folder to a floppy or other removable
device and put that folder in the same location on the new
pc. You will get a message about the folder already
existing and do you want to replace it. Say yes.

Yes, MS made it easy to do this. Simply launch IE on your old system and then
click on File > Import and Export Wizard, then Export your Favorites to a floppy
disc. It will generate a small file called Bookmark.htm. This file can then be
Imported back into the system using the same Wizard on your new system and your
Favorites will be recreated.

You could use the same routine for the cookies, in case you access any websites
that required a signup.

Another way is "File", "Import and
Export", "Next", "Export Favorites", "Next", save to a
floppy disk, then use "Import" on the laptop.

Import/Export Wizard in Internet Explorer is the easiest. You can also copy the contents of the Favorites folder to a disk.
