Help removing AutoArchive Prompt please!

Hi all: In my environment, we have a 100MB limit on users mailboxes,
so I have set up the Outlook profile wizard to configure AutoArchiving
to the specs I have defined. This all works fine, with one exception.
In Options>Other>AutoArchive, there is an option "Prompt before
AutoArchive Runs", which stays checked by default, thereby partially
defeating my efforts to autoarchive users mailboxes. Suprisingly, many
users get scared and choose No when the prompt comes up!

I have found that when you un-check this setting, it modifies the
registry key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook
\Preferences\PromptForAging' to a value of zero. So, I have tried to
change this setting using a script to modify the registry, but after
importing the desired registry setting, Outlook does not seem to honor
the registry change, and the box stays checked.

Anyone have any insight as to how I can get this check box to be OFF
by default? Thanks much in advance!!!

Have you verified that the correct key type got created and that the reg
import actually got applied?

Hi Roady.. thanks for the reply...

I'll give a little more detail. I used Regmon from Winternals to
capture the registry changes as I used the GUI to check and un-check
the setting, so I'm sure this the correct key.

To verify it would work using a script, I am first testing by
observing the current setting in Outlook, then closing Outlook, and
modifying this key using regedit and changing the value to a zero or
one, and then opening Outlook again to see if the registry value
change has caused the check box setting to change.

All my tests have failed to show that changing the value in the
registry results in a GUI check box settings change in Outlook, as one
would expect. However, When I change the value in Outlook using the
check box, then watching the registry value in regedit, the registry
value does get updated, which seems very strange to me.

I've tested it multiple times as this is not at all what I would
expect to happen, but still every time I change the registry value,
the change is not reflected in Outlook's GUI.
