Help! Problem with templates

I am having immense difficulty in creating and applying a template.

I have a single-slide presentation in a style that I like and I have saved
it as a template in the default location for templates.

The new template appears in the Slide Design task pain under the heading
'Available for use'. If I click the arrow on the new template and choose
'Apply to All slides', nothing happens. In particular, the newly-created
template does *not* appear under the heading 'Used in this presentation' and
if I insert a new slide, it is not modelled on the new template.

This is very frustrating (everything to do with templates in MS Software
seems to create headaches).

Can anyone suggest how I can get the new template to be used in my current
presentation (which is, after all, the model for that template)?

Many thanks,

Gerry

You need to make your changes to the Slide Master and optionally the Title
Master of your presentation before saving it as a template.

It's these features that are applied when you apply a template to an existing
presentation.

Slides in the template are ignored in this situation.

Many thanks for your help.
