When i go to start documents I see all of the documents I opened
during a session. Once I reboot the next day the recent documents
list shows empty. What setting did I inadvertently hose?

TIA.

Thanks for the help. So far have not found entry using regedit.

Next question could you answer the following:

When I shut down IE6 and then start cold I loose the list of recently
accessed URL's. When setting did I hose in error?

To add to what Ramesh has already pointed out, if you have
installed TweakUI from Microsoft on your system there is a
setting to clear the documents history on exit. Check under the
Explorer -> Settings section.

Also, check the security programs you have installed. Look to
see if they include a feature which deletes the trails left by
your computing activity.

Good luck

Hi,

ClearRecentDocsOnExit can be set as a per-system Policy as well. So check for the value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE hive also.

No idea. But you can try clearing the history / index.dat, and try again. Follow the steps here.

Delete the History folder and index.dat:
